This volume collects two decades of working notes from Dhaka's small-press publishing trade.

The first half is practical: paper grades and their behaviour in the local climate, the arithmetic of a Demy 1/8 signature, and why an offset run below two thousand copies rarely pays for itself.

The second half is an argument. The author holds that the decline in Bengali-language reference publishing is a distribution problem rather than a readership problem, and marshals two decades of print-run data to make the case.

An appendix reproduces the ISBN registration procedure for Bangladeshi publishers, which is the reason the book is so often cited by its identifier rather than its title.
